Research!America Announces the Election of Six New Board Members
Arlington, Va. – The members of Research!America, a nonprofit alliance that advocates for science, discovery, and innovation to achieve better health for all, today elected six new members to its Board of Directors.
These six individuals are leaders in their respective fields and have made significant contributions to advancing medical and health research through science, advocacy, and policy. Together with the current members, the Board represents the broad scope of the Research!America alliance which includes academia, professional societies, patient organizations, philanthropy, and industry.
“I would like to welcome these distinguished leaders to the Research!America board,” said Board Chair Sudip Parikh, Ph.D. “These highly accomplished professionals bring a wealth of knowledge and new perspectives to our board. Their expertise and unique viewpoints will strengthen the board and help in advancing our mission.”
The newly elected board members, who will each serve a three-year term, are:
- Brett Giroir, M.D., Board Chair of OncoNano Medicine in Dallas; Former U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health
- Raj Panjabi, M.D., Senior Partner, Flagship Pioneering
- Dipen Parekh, M.D., CEO, University of Miami Health System
- Joanne Pike, DrPH, President and CEO, Alzheimer’s Association
- Megan Ranney, M.D., MPH, Dean, Yale School of Public Health
- Brandon Staglin, M.S., Co-Founder and Chief Advocacy and Engagement Officer, One Mind
